Corrosion Inhibitors — Acid Pickling

// Product Overview

Sceptre's Acid Pickling Corrosion Inhibitors are specialty organic compounds that protect base metal surfaces from acid attack during pickling, descaling, acid cleaning, and well stimulation operations — while allowing the acid to dissolve scale, rust, and mineral deposits without corroding the underlying metal substrate.

During acid cleaning and descaling operations, unprotected metal is attacked by the acid at rates that can far exceed the rate of scale dissolution — causing metal loss, pitting, and hydrogen embrittlement. Our pickling inhibitors adsorb onto clean metal surfaces and create a protective barrier that dramatically reduces acid attack on the base metal without significantly interfering with scale dissolution.

Key Benefits & Features

✅

Metal Loss Reduction

Our acid pickling inhibitors reduce base metal corrosion by 90–98% compared to uninhibited acid — protecting expensive equipment during necessary acid cleaning procedures.

🎯

Hydrogen Embrittlement Prevention

Inclusion of hydrogen evolution suppressants in our formulations reduces the risk of hydrogen absorption by high-strength steels during acid pickling — preventing brittle fracture.

⚡

Compatibility with HCl, H₂SO₄, HF, and Organic Acids

Product variants available for compatibility with all common pickling and descaling acids used in industrial, oilfield, and well stimulation applications.

🛡️

High-Temperature Stability

Our inhibitors remain effective at elevated temperatures (up to 90°C) — maintaining protection in hot acid cleaning of heat exchangers, evaporators, and process vessels.

💡

Oilfield Matrix Acidizing

Specialized retarded acid corrosion inhibitor programs for matrix acidizing and acid fracturing of carbonate and sandstone reservoirs — compatible with stimulation acid systems.

🔬

Regulatory Documentation

Supplied with Safepas or equivalent inhibitor efficiency testing data — meeting the documentation requirements of NACE, API, and international well stimulation standards.
