Corrosion Inhibitors — Oilfield
Sceptre's Oilfield Corrosion Inhibitors protect upstream production pipelines, wellheads, downhole tubing, surface facilities, and export lines from the aggressive corrosion caused by CO₂, H₂S, organic acids, and produced water in oil and gas production environments. Our inhibitor programs are designed for continuous injection and batch treatment applications.
Corrosion in oilfield systems is driven by dissolved gases (CO₂ producing carbonic acid corrosion; H₂S producing sulfide stress cracking), high-salinity produced water, temperature extremes, and flow-induced mechanical damage. Our corrosion inhibitor programs use nitrogen-containing organic compounds — imidazolines, amides, and their salts — that adsorb onto metal surfaces and form a protective barrier against corrosive species.
Key Benefits & Features
CO₂ and Sweet Corrosion Control
Imidazoline-based inhibitors specifically optimised for sweet CO₂-dominated corrosion environments — providing persistent protection on both vertical and horizontal pipeline surfaces.
H₂S and Sour Service Protection
Film-forming and acid-reacting inhibitors suitable for sour gas environments — selected and dosed to comply with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 material and chemical requirements.
Water Cut Independence
Effective at high water cuts (>70%) where the aqueous phase dominates and corrosion risk peaks — without requiring increased treat rates or reformulation.
Pigging Compatibility
Our corrosion inhibitor sticks and gels are specifically designed for pig-launched batch treatment of pipelines — delivering inhibitor film ahead of the slug.
Compatibility Verified
Supplied with documented compatibility data against common production chemicals including scale inhibitors, demulsifiers, and methanol — preventing inhibitor interaction problems.
Corrosion Monitoring Integration
Sceptre supports corrosion monitoring programs (weight loss coupons, ER probes, LPR monitoring) to verify inhibitor performance and optimize treat rate and injection frequency.
